About Bay Veterinary Clinic
Hello, I’m Dr. Sue Laskaska. I graduated from Michigan State University Veterinary School in 1987. I spent the first ten years of my career in the Detroit suburbs before moving here and buying the Bay Veterinary Clinic in 1997. My husband Randy and I are so grateful to have been embraced by this community. We are thankful to have had the opportunity to raise our children, Matt and Sarah, here. Besides seeing my patients, I have volunteered my time as a race veterinarian in the U.P. 200 sled dog race and the St. Ignace Enduro sled dog races as well as at the Miracle of Life exhibit at the U.P. State Fair. I have also treated birds for the Raptor Rehab center, and worked with local rehab specialist on other injured wildlife, including deer, foxes, bobcats, waterfowl, and a bear cub. I am on the board of directors for the Delta Animal Shelter, and work extensively with them. My hobbies are scuba diving, snowmobiling, kayaking, cooking, and pretty much any outdoor activity. After over 30 years in practice, I still can’t wait to get to work every morning. I pledge to give you and your pets my very best effort at all times!

Dr. Holly Way
I grew up in Gladstone and graduated in 1993. I then attended Bay College and Northern Michigan University. I received my Veterinary Medicine degree from Michigan State in 2001 and returned to the UP to practice.
I enjoy my work, finding that every day brings new and interesting challenges and chances to help others and their beloved animal companions. My family and I enjoy camping, biking, sports, music, reading, hiking, travel and gathering with family and friends. I am a Scoutmaster with Scout Troop 401, and enjoy volunteering at many school, church and community activities. Our family has a good dog, Sparty, and many fish.
I’ve been working at the Bay Veterinary Clinic since January 2008 and began as an assistant but am currently the office manager. I have always loved animals and have 2 cats at home and am also a busy mom with one daughter. The thing I enjoy most about my job is that every day there is something new and exciting. We never have the same day twice. We may see some really sad and unfortunate cases, but it is also rewarding to see the healed animals in the end.
I’ve been an employee here since 2008. I started as a veterinary assistant and now I’m currently the Head Technician. I assist the doctor, technicians and others assistants while working with patients throughout the day. I do many different jobs, but some of my skills range from drawing blood to assisting in surgeries.
I was born and raised in the U.P. and would consider myself a True Yooper! I enjoy outdoor activities, traveling, and being with friends and family. I am a 2006 graduate of Gladstone High School and also attended Bay de Noc Community college.
Working with Dr. Laskaska and Dr. Way has been the greatest opportunity. I’m grateful for the relationships I’ve developed with our clients and co-workers throughout the years here. Our clinic is a place where you will be greeted with a friendly smile and we will treat your pet like one of our own. Come on in and see us!
I’m originally from Sault Ste Marie Ontario Canada but have called the U.P. home since 2002. I live with my husband, two sons, two dogs, and two cats. I love anything outdoors, especially cross country skiing, snowmobiling, four wheeling, and rustic camping! I’m also very involved with my sons school and PTO and you will find me either volunteering, helping out with Lego club, or subbing where needed.
I joined the team here at Bay Vet Clinic in 2011 as a veterinary assistant and am now also the book keeper. I absolutely love working here! The atmosphere is supportive, encouraging, educational, professional and fun. This is a great group of people to work with and the clientele and patients are wonderful! I’m so glad I get to do what I love!
I was born and raised in the Upper Peninsula! In my spare time I enjoy backpacking/hiking, camping, kayaking, going to concerts and riding horses.
I became certified in Equine Massage Therapy in March of 2017. I graduated from Northern Michigan University in May 2017 with an Associate of Business.
In December 2017 I joined the Bay Vet team. I’ve always had a passion for animals and I’m grateful that the Bay vet clinic has given me the opportunity to work with animals.
I’ve really enjoyed getting to know the clientele/patients and I’m happy to have such a great work environment.
I was born and raised in Escanaba. I joined the Bay Veterinary Clinic team as a vet assistant in November of 2018 and I bring over 22 years of customer service experience with me. My love for animals is what brought me to seek a job in this field. I really enjoy working the our wonderful clients and patients. We have a fantastic team here and coming to work each day is always an adventure! When I am not at work I enjoy spending time with my husband Jamie, our 3 children and our 2 dogs. My favorite past time is watching my kids participate in sporting events which include softball, wrestling, football and cheerleading.
I graduated from NMU in 2012 with a degree in General Biology. I originally worked for Veterinarian Dr. Kathy Lane in 2012 until her passing in 2018. I have always loved working with animals and was fortunate to then become a member of the Bay Veterinary Clinic team in late 2018. I love the family atmosphere here and working with these extraordinary women.
I have just recently graduated from Northern Michigan University where I majored in Biology. I have been a team member here part time since 2016 and am happy to have now become a full time employee! The U.P. has been home for me my entire life. I live in Cornell where I love to be outside doing everything from fishing to kayaking to camping. What I most enjoy is hunting, so come October I spend most of my time in the woods and at camp. I currently have two cats, Aly and Mabel, and a hamster Peach whom the cats surprisingly leave alone and allow her to enjoy running around in her ball.
It is with great sadness that we must announce that we lost our Mary to kidney cancer on September 26, 2016. However, she remains on our staff as our guardian angel.
Hello, my name is Mary Flath. I originally started out cleaning the Bay Vet Clinic in 1993 in the evenings. Some nights when I came in to clean, the staff were still working. I found it very interesting to watch them work on the patients. In July of 1994 I was offered a job working with the animals and I loved it. When Dr. Sue bought the clinic in 1997, I came with the building. I am now the office manager and I can’t think of a better place to work. Dr. Sue and the staff are wonderful, caring people. I have been happily married for 36 years. My husband and I have 3 cats.
