About Bay Veterinary Clinic
Hello, I’m Dr. Sue Laskaska. I graduated from Michigan State University Veterinary School in 1987. I spent the first ten years of my career in the Detroit suburbs before moving here and buying the Bay Veterinary Clinic in 1997. My husband Randy and I are so grateful to have been embraced by this community. We are thankful to have had the opportunity to raise our children, Matt and Sarah, here. Besides seeing my patients, I volunteer my time as a race veterinarian in the U.P. 200 sled dog race, and treating birds for the Raptor Rehabilitation Center. I am on the board of directors for the Delta Animal Shelter, and work extensively with them. My hobbies are scuba diving, snowmobiling, kayaking, cooking, and pretty much any outdoor activity. After 26 years in practice, I still can’t wait to get to work every morning. I pledge to give you and your pets my very best effort at all times!

It is with great sadness that we must announce that we lost our Mary to kidney cancer on September 26, 2016. However, she remains on our staff as our guardian angel.
Hello, my name is Mary Flath. I originally started out cleaning the Bay Vet Clinic in 1993 in the evenings. Some nights when I came in to clean, the staff were still working. I found it very interesting to watch them work on the patients. In July of 1994 I was offered a job working with the animals and I loved it. When Dr. Sue bought the clinic in 1997, I came with the building. I am now the office manager and I can’t think of a better place to work. Dr. Sue and the staff are wonderful, caring people. I have been happily married for 36 years. My husband and I have 3 cats.
My name is Ashley Deiter and I have been an assistant here at Bay Vet for 6 years. I have always loved animals and have a few pets at home. The thing I enjoy most about my job is that every day there is something new. We never have the same day over and over. I also really enjoy getting to help the Delta Animal Shelter. We may seen some really sad and unfortunate cases, but it is also rewarding to see the healed animal in the end.
My name is Mandi Lippens. I’m originally from Sault Ste. Marie Ontario, but now live in the area with my husband, son, 3 dogs and 2 cats. I enjoy dirt bikes, motorcycles, camping, kayaking and pretty much anything outdoors.
I joined the team here at Bay Veterinary Clinic in 2011 as a veterinary assistant and I absolutely love it! The work atmosphere is supportive, encouraging, educational, professional and fun! This is a great group of people to work with and the clientele are wonderful! I really enjoy Dr. Sue’s dedication to quality medicine and client service.
My name is Kristi Nelson. I’m a Veterinary Assistant here at the Bay Vet Clinic & have been an employee since 2008. I assist the doctor, technicians & other assistants while working with patients throughout the day. I do many different jobs, but some of my skills range from drawing blood to assisting in surgeries.
I was born and raised in the U.P. and would consider myself a “True Yooper.” I enjoy outdoor activities, sports and being with friends & family. I am a 2006 graduate of Gladstone High School & also attended Bay de Noc Community College.
Working with Dr. Laskaska has been the greatest opportunity! I’m grateful for the relationships I’ve developed with our clients & co-workers throughout the years here. Our clinic is a place where you will be greeted with a friendly smile & we will treat your pet like one of our own! Come on in & see us!
My name is Kayla Lancour. I am a Certified Veterinary Technician, and was born & raised in the U.P. I’ve always had a passion for animals growing up. I began attending Globe University to fulfill my dreams. Upon graduation, I completed my internship at Bay Veterinary Clinic. I later joined the staff full time and enjoy meeting and getting know our patients. I’ve recently passed the Wisconsin state board exam and am now a CVT. After graduating & moving back home, in my spare time I am enjoying watching supercross/motocross, as well as reading & spending time with friends. I am very grateful to begin my career as a CVT here at Bay Vet.
My name is Heather Beaudoin. I graduated in 2015 from Northern Michigan University with a major in Zoology and a minor in Chemistry. I have been working seasonally here at Bay Vet Clinic since 2011, but became a full time member in July 2015. I was born and raised in the UP, and have always had a passion for the outdoors and animals. I spend most of my summers camping and fishing, and spend the winters skiing. I am so happy to finally become true member of the Bay Vet Staff, and look forward to what the future has in store for me here.
